Christmas is a time for giving and this year, the Care Needs team felt extremely honoured to be able to donate much needed supplies to Stockport Foodbank.
Giving back and supporting our local community is incredibly important to us and so each year we try to help an organisation within our region. In 2021 we donated leftover hampers to a homeless charity in Cheadle whilst we have also sponsored a local football team.
With the cost of living crisis, many people are struggling to make ends meet and The Trussel Trust, which operates more than 1,300 foodbanks across the UK, has said that it is expected to provide more than three million meals this month. We want to do our bit to ensure those local to Stockport can get access to the supplies they need this winter and not have to go hungry.
Whether it’s toiletries, tinned foods or a monetary donation, every little helps. The Stockport Foodbank operates across six locations to provide three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in crisis who are referred to the charity.
